The Creativity Portal
A collaborative project between Learning & Teaching Scotland and Creative Scotland, the online Creativity Portal unites academic intranet GLOW with educational offerings by various arts organisations.
We were hired to design and implement a website that is appealing, straightforward and unchallenging for anyone to use.

In order to inspire teachers to embrace creativity in the classroom, we collected engaging content from a cross-section of creative practitioners.
But our primary task was technological – figuring out how the portal functioned, half-in and half-out of a secure firewall.
Problem solved
Working on a tight timescale, we needed to ensure a seamless flow of information between the web and a closed system.
With the help of developers DKDO, the site was built in an open source environment – the content management system provides users with a familiar interface, while RSS feeds automatically pull content from designated sources.
Delivering something clean, legible and well organised was a given, but we also wanted the website to captivate users through continual modification and reassessment.
This evolutionary process, and the partnership that empowered it, produced favorable results for everyone involved.
