The Associates

A 10-year anniversary celebration for Dundee Contemporary Arts, The Associates was an exhibition of recent work by Dundee School of Art graduates.

Named after the seminal post-punk legends, the show acknowledged the city’s influential contribution to Britain’s modern creative landscape.

We designed an accompanying publication that calmly references the fanzine aesthetic and loose-leaf style of the underground music press.

The grainy texture of heavily recycled paper recalls newsprint, while the masthead type design echoes the renegade street-smarts of wheat-pasted gig posters.
