Scottish Recovery Network

Scottish Recovery Network is a charitable organisation with a clear message: People can and do recover from the most serious mental health problems.

Before coming to us, they’d done very little marketing – this allowed us to firmly establish an innovative method of communication within their sector from the beginning.

Finding meaning
Initially we undertook an illustrative style within a range of material – flyers, the Journeys Of Recovery booklet and a bound government report.

Quotation-based content was combined with abstract visual cues that not only replace traditional photography, but also represent the idea of positive progression – the dynamic upward stroke implies a forward journey, from darkness to light.
Inspiring hope
As our working relationship progressed, market research drew attention to the lack of photography and visual narrative.

We answered by incorporating images of the spaces people inhabit in their daily lives.

These photographs of everyday environments
were sourced from various community members, suggesting the concept of travel in the process
of recovery.
