We designed these almost a year ago now, we’d kind of forgotten about them so it was a nice surprise to see these shots. For a community building designed by Collective Architecture, these 4m tall pre-cast concrete panels have a repeat pattern that takes inspiration from iron ore, paying reference to the industrial history of Lanarkshire. The building should be finished in spring.

We’ve just completed a new website for furniture designer/maker Derek Welsh. Derek produces unique and beautiful hand crafted furniture and bespoke interior projects. You can get hold of a few of his pieces via our online shop or just drop him a line if something takes your fancy.

We’ve just completed a lovely set of season look-books for  fashion retailer Cruise. Two versions for their mainline ranges, an A3 for press and an A5 for customers, both with silver foil and silver litho on the black Colourplan covers. And one for their jeans range in a loose leaf A4 format using a nice fluoro yellow. All with matching envelopes. There will be plenty more to follow including advertising and digital versions.

We’ve recently taken delivery of our annual(ish) self promo publication. This time its an A3 format with a pretty unusual binding mechanism. We worked with copy writer Eric Ledford on this one so there’s a bit more reading in it that previous editions. We’ll pop it on the main website soon but to see more pics or maybe even get yourself a copy check the shop, here.

Books, objects, exhibition images, posters, self-promotional publications and maybe a few limited edition prints: it’s all there. Over time, the collection will grow and hopefully prove to be a worthwhile venture for everyone involved with Graphical House.

It’s seems bizarre to be talking about print work for next year but in reality we started on this back at the end of 2009, such is the world of education. This year in addition to designing the undergrad prospectus for UWS, we also produced a new magazine which goes with it. We not only designed the mag but developed the concept and commissioned all the content. Looking at the less formal side of student life in the West of Scotland the magazine has articles about music, food and of course, money from writers such as Kirsten Innes, Barry Nicolson, Ken McHugh and Stacey Hunter. We’re doing a lot more with UWS this year so we’ll be posting regularly about them. See the latest work in more detail here.

Our second Season Brochure for National Theatre Scotland has recently arrived back from the printers. It should be out and about by now so why not go pick one up from your local leaflet rack.

We’ve just taken delivery of this rather nice hardback from Sandu Publishing in China. It looks at book and promotional design and features our work for the University of the West of Scotland, as well as our own ‘Me & You’ self promotional publication. Also featuring work by the likes of Spin, Base, Research Studios and Sagmeister, we’re in pretty good company. It seems to be pretty difficult to get hold in the UK at the moment though. Hopefully they’ll sort that out soon.
